Challenge
Supporting high-volume packing requirements
A tobacco packing customer needed a solution capable of accommodating high-volume transit packaging demands while maintaining flexibility and efficiency. The system needed to handle varying production scenarios without adding complexity to changeovers or increasing downtime, all while operating reliably in a demanding production environment.

Innovation
Flexible, software-driven palletizing automation
AIR applied our existing fast, compact, and flexible robotic palletizer platform and adapted it to meet the specific needs of high-volume tobacco packing. The focus was on simplifying operation while maintaining throughput and robustness.
- Built-in pallet configuration software enabling direct input of case dimensions at the machine
- Automated format adjustment without additional control system programming
- Flexible pallet loading configuration supporting multiple lines
- Hygienic, robust mechanical design suitable for FMCG and tobacco environments
- Track and trace integrated
- EUPTD regulation compliant
Result
Reliable performance at production scale
In operation, the system allows two pallets to be loaded either in quick succession or simultaneously from multiple lines, providing operational flexibility as demand fluctuates. Where required, layer cards are automatically retrieved from a secondary pallet and placed during pallet loading. The palletizer handles case weights of up to 30 kg and operates at speeds of up to 10 cases per minute, delivering a reliable and scalable transit packaging solution for high-volume tobacco production.
